Congress Format
Plenary Sessions
All attendees are welcome to the Opening Ceremony, Plenary Sessions and Closing Ceremony, during which personalities from today’s world of ITS will discuss their personal views on key ITS issues.
Executive Sessions
During these sessions, invited high-level industry executives and public officials from around the world will share their perspectives and rich experiences with the audience. They provide an exciting opportunity to learn about and help plan future ITS initiatives.
Special Interest Sessions
Organised at the request of organisations or experts developing and deploying ITS, these interactive, tailor-made meetings focusing on today’s challenges will delve into topics and offer fresh perspectives and insight.
Technical/Scientific Sessions
These sessions are composed of presentations by international experts on varying ITS related topics encompassing all technical, economic, organisational and societal aspects of ITS.
They aim to encourage and enable the exchange of information on every aspect of ITS deployment ranging from improving the operational use of systems and services on the one hand to research and planning to support new applications on the other.
Forum Sessions
A strictly limited number of technical/scientific papers which are particularly timely, thought-provoking or possibly very contentious have been selected for participating in a Forum Session. We are asking for a very focused and succinct 8-10 minute account of the key issues. The moderator will then prompt a discussion between the speakers encouraging them to argue their position as set out in their main paper and to explain why alternative approaches are wrong. These sessions have a light grey background in the programme.
Interactive Sessions
To facilitate information exchange, the Interactive Sessions will provide a two-stage presentation opportunity to ensure that authors/presenters can achieve the profile and audience of interested delegates that their work deserves.
The first stage of the Interactive Sessions is a presentation session where technical/scientific papers that share the same topic are chosen so that, when combined, they improve the discussions on that topic. For each session of 90 minutes, there would be 10 presentations.
The second element is a timeslot immediately following the presentation where all authors assemble in “The Market Square” for direct contact between the speakers and interested specialists giving time for one-to-one discussions.
Lunchtime Debates
These free-to-attend sponsored lunchtime debates are designed to spice up your lunch hour with a lively mix of debate, discussion and interactive Q&A. Each day key ITS issues will be debated by different ITS experts – all well-known players in the market with respected but opposing views. Join the debate, get your opinion heard and enjoy the heated but friendly exchanges. Ideal entertainment for lunch and you may also learn something. The debates will be held in the main catering area in the Exhibition Hall on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 12.50 and 13.30.
